Church always in need of repair, says Francis

The Church is constantly in need of repair and Christians are the “living stones” used to fix it, Pope Francis has said. He told pilgrims at his Angelus: “Jesus wants to continue building his church, this house with solid foundations yet where cracks aren’t lacking.”

Indian president hails Church’s aid of poor

The new president of India, Ram Nath Kovind, praised the Church’s work with the poor and downtrodden in a meeting with bishops, according to a Church statement.

Brazilian priest found murdered in his home

Fr Pedro Gomes Bezerra was found stabbed to death at his home in Borborema, Brazil, last week. He is the 11th priest killed in 2017.
